THE VAN KEUREN HOUSE IS A DESIGNATED CITY OF KINGSTON HISTORIC LANDMARK LOCATED IN THE STOCKADE AREA NATIONAL REGISTER HISTORIC DISTRICT. IT WAS RESTORED IN THE 1920'S BY THE NOTED RESTORATION ARCHITECT MYRON TELLER. IT WAS MEASURED AND RECOREDED BY THE HISTORIC AMERICAN BUILDINGS SURVEY, AND HAS BEEN FEATURED IN NUMEROUS PUBLICATIONS INCLUDING DUTCH HOUSES IN THE HUDSON VALLEY AND EARLY AMERICAN HOMES. THIS NOTABLE HOUSE WAS PARTIALLY BURNED IN 1777 WHEN THE BRITISH BURNED KINGSTON, AND STILL RETAINS SOME CHARRED BEAMS FROM THE BURNING IN THE BASEMENT.
